Last week on The X Factor 2012 season 2, the top 24 contestants performed at the judges’ homes in hopes of being selected to go through to the live final rounds. The X Factor 2012 judges were joined in the mentoring and selection process by guest advisers Justin Bieber, Nick Jonas, Will.I.Am and Marc Anthony.

By the end of The X Factor season 2 results show tonight, only 16 singers will be chosen to carry on in the competition. This will be the last cut before The X Factor season 2 contestants move on to the live show rounds starting November 1. The show will be preempted by the 2012 World Series this week on Thursday.

The start of the show has been delayed, here’s the official announcement from Twitter: “Post-Season Baseball is in rain delay & we’re waiting to hear how this affects tonight’s episode. We’ll post updates, so stay tuned!” We will bring you our recap of the show live as soon as it starts!

Still waiting…

Finally, here we go! Up first is Team Britney Spears and the pop diva will be announcing who will be going through to the live rounds from her team.

The first two have learned their fate and we are very pleased to report that Diamond White and Carly Rose Sonenclar are both moving on!

Now we have cutie Arin Ray and Britney says he has charisma and talent. He is through to the next round as well.

Next to learn his fate is rapper James Tanner. Britney says he is cool, but she obviously just doesn’t know what to do with him and she decides he is going to go home.

The final two teens to find out if they will be moving on are Reed Deming and Beatrice Miller. Sadly it looks like adorable Reed Deming is not going to make it through. Honestly though, he could use some more time to mature. As for Beatrice Miller, how could anyone even think she wouldn’t make it? Of course she is through to the next round!

Here’s the official announcement of the teens going to the live rounds from The X Factor USA Twitter: “Congrats to @BritneySpears and her final 4: @DiamondKWhite @CarlyRoseMusic @ArinRaySings & @BeatriceMiller! #Britneyteens

“Saying no is so heartbreaking. @TheJTmusic & @ReedDeming, keep working hard and don’t give up on your dream!” Britney Spears posted on Twitter.

The next group up is the over-25 category with judge L.A. Reid. The first person he chooses to take to the final four is David Correy. Yay! I love him.

Although L.A. tells Daryl Black he reminds him of himself and he is really talented, he decides to send him home. Ouch.

The news is better for the next guy up, Jason Brock — one of my favorites. He is through to the next round.

L.A. tells Tate Stevens he needs confidence but he is loveable and he has decided to take him to the live rounds. The last two of the group are Vino Allan and Tara Simon. Personally I’m hoping this one is going to go to Vino… and L.A. has made his decision… it will be Vino moving on to the next round!

Here’s the official word from Twitter: “Yay for @LA_Reid and his final 4: @TateStevensCtry @JasonBroccoli @davidcorrey & @VinoAlan! #LAover25s

For his part, L.A. Reid seems to have changed his tune a bit from previously when he appeared to absolutely hate his group and think none of them could win. Here’s his post from Twitter this evening: “So, the top 4 in my category have officially been announced! You all ready to watch the #LAover25s win this thing? @TheXFactorUSA

Demi Lovato’s group of young adults is up next and the first person to find out if they are going home is Jennel Garcia. Demi Lovato tells her exactly what she wants to hear, that her voice is incredible. She says, however, that she is still too insecure and needs to connect more with people. Still, her voice is incredible and she is through to the next round!

Also making Demi’s final four is the very unique Willie Jones — despite her thinking he is kind of a big risk.
