RECAP: To kick off the show tonight, we learn that Simon Cowell was apparently LYING not very long ago when he said there would be no ‘wildcard’ addition this season on The X Factor 2012. Apparently that is not the case, since they have just announced the judges asked previously eliminated teen singer Diamond White back to the competition!

Well, I guess all those fans screaming and posting nasty Facebook and Twitter comments about eliminating here actually were heard. Doesn’t this kind of make Britney Spears seem a bit like a lame duck judge though, by second guessing her elimination choices in the last round? Oh well, who cares. Diamond White deserved a second chance. Let’s move right along to tonight’s live performances!

Arin Ray – “American Boy” by Kanye West

Judges: Demi says Arin looks like a star up on the stage tonight and she’s kind of speechless. Simon praises Britney for helping Arin to become the artist he should be. L. A. says Arin is a different person than when he started and he has really formed his own identity. Britney says he owned the stage and he is a star.

Paige Thomas – “Take My Breath Away” by Berlin

Judges: Simon says snarkily that Demi couldn’t have filled the stage up any more with stuff. The production was kind of over-the-top, to be sure. L. A. says the production was great and the song was good, but he wasn’t totally impressed. Britney praises Paige’s passion and said she really liked the beginning as the best part. Demi gets sarcastic about Simon’s comments and says she should have added fire or something and she’s soooooo sorry she let Paige down. She says everyone disagrees with Simon.

Vino Alan – “When a Man Loves a Woman” by Percy Sledge

Judges: Britney says he is unique and special. Simon says he can see that Vino put his heart and soul into his performance and he is a good man. Demi says it was a fantast performance but she finds it hard to see him as a pop star. L. A. says he is very proud and he totally nailed it.

Emblem3 – “My Girl” by The Temptations and “California Gurls” by Katy Perry

Judges: L. A. says he doesn’t like perfection. Britney says she was blown away by the performance and the originality of what they did. Demi says they were really great. Simon says they are fun every time they perform and have great energy.

Beatrice Miller – “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls

Judges: L. A. says she sounds like a hit record and she is sensational. Demi says the performance blew her mind and was so full of soul. Simon says it is a hard song and she is a great performer. She is better this week than last. Britney says she has the best personality of any contestant and she is very special.

Jennel Garcia – “I Love Rock N Roll” by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts

Judges: L. A. says it was a good performance but it was too much of a Joan Jett parody. Britney says it hot with a triple repeat of hot! Simon says he really likes her but does not like the makeover Demi has given her. He says she is not recognizable as the person who started the competition. He thinks she needs to challenge herself more and not just be a cover singer. Demi says this is why she is Jennel’s mentor and not him. She thinks Jennel was amazing.

Tate Stevens – “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi

Judges: Britney says he is really a cowboy with how he made the song so country. Demi says he is so sweet and talented. He has what it takes to make it. Simon says it feels like tonight Tate is back in the competition. L. A. says if America is in a voting mood, he hopes they will vote to keep him.

Lyric 145 – “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” by Julie Andrews

Judges: L. A. says he couldn’t stand it, but they shouldn’t care because it was really excellent. He says it was very creative and well done. Britney says it was very entertaining and intriguing to watch. Demi says they nailed it and she is so hyped up after watching them. Simon says it was a brave song choice they picked and they were bloody terrific.

Diamond White – “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston

Judges: L. A. says it was a risky song to tackle, but she brought it home. Demi says she is almost in tears because she is such a huge Whitney Houston fan and the performance touched her heart. Simon says this performance proves that dreams do come true. Britney says Diamond really channeled Whitney on stage tonight. She would have been proud.

CeCe Frey – Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor

Judges: L. A. liked the ending but the whole performance just didn’t really impress him. Britney says CeCe is a rebel and she was courageous with her performance and had fire. Simon says she is just not recognizable anymore and her whole previous persona has been trashed. He thinks she is going the wrong direction and the song choice was not good for her. Demi says she has become the performer she wanted to be.

Carly Rose Sonenclar – “It Will Rain” by Bruno Mars

Judges: L. A. says he loves it and it was beautiful and honest. Demi says it was incredible. Simon says it was a huge improvement over last week’s performance. She really has guts and she is a star. Britney says Carly could have closed out the show because no one should follow that performance.

Jason Brock – “I Believe I Can Fly” by R. Kelly

Judges: Britney says it was a bit Vegas lounge act, but better than last week. Demi says it was too cabaret and predictable. Simon says he did not believe he could fly and he looked like he was dressed to sing in an Italian restaurant. L. A. says it is up to the public if he flies or not.

Fifth Harmony (Formerly 1432 and LYLAS) – “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri

Judges: L. A. says America picked out the new name and so he can’t say anything about it. He thought they nailed the performance though. Britney says they shined tonight and she is very impressed. Demi says she didn’t like the song arrangement, but their vocals were great. Simon says they are very exciting and he is very proud of them.
