WARNING: THE X FACTOR 2012 SPOILERS AHEAD!
This post contains spoilers from The X Factor 2012 elimination results show Thursday night. Please stop reading if you do not want to know what happened and who went home on The X Factor season 2 this week!
Last night on The X Factor 2012 season 2, there were a number of very enjoyable performances from contestants like Arin Ray, Carly Rose Sonenclar and Beatrice Miller. Suddenly returned teen singer Diamond White also landed on the high end of the scale with her Whitney Houston rendition. I honestly don’t see any of these acts being cut in tonight’s The X Factor elimination results. If any of them were to be the one who was eliminated on The X Factor 2012 this evening, it would be a serious shame.
The groups also did well, with solid performances from Emblem3, Fifth Harmony and Lyric 145. I am doubting Emblem3 or Fifth Harmony will have any trouble moving on. Although Lyric 145 may not be a bit more out there, I think they are probably safe as well. Even though they are not to my taste, I have to give them total respect for taking big risks last night. They did an amazing job with very unusual and difficult material. They also really commanded the stage.
Resting somewhere in the middle on The X Factor season 2 live performances show last night were Paige Thomas, Tate Stevens and Vino Alan. Of the three, I think Paige Thomas might be in a bit of danger as she is just failing to live up to the high expectations created by the initial hype on the show around her story. The other two were given a decent amount of quality praise from the judges and had a better crowd reaction. They are just not quite as strong as some of the others and they are more ‘niche’ singers. Paige was just disappointing all around because she has the potential to be a mainstream star, but she can’t seem to find consistency in her performances.
Unfortunately, there were also some not so great showings by Jennel Garcia, Jason Brock and CeCe Frey on The X Factor 2012 last night. All three gave performances that were heavily criticized by the judges and were just overall a fail. I am especially sad to see Jason Brock in this category because I’m very fond of him and his powerhouse voice. His song choice, wardrobe and stage production last night were, however, totally wrong in every way. He made himself into a stereotype and that is never, ever good. Jennel Garcia also has a lot more to offer than she gave last night. I’ve never been all that interested in CeCe Frey and I thought her performance was very bad last night. So, personally, I’m hoping she will be the one who was eliminated on The X Factor USA this evening.
Going into the show tonight, here is the current breakdown of the Top 13 finalists and their respective teams:
- Team Britney Spears (Teens): Arin Ray, Beatrice Miller, Carly Rose Sonenclar and Diamond White
- Team Demi Lovato (Young Adults): CeCe Frey, Jennel Garcia and Paige Thomas
- Team L. A. Reid (Over 25): Jason Brock, Tate Stevens and Vino Alan
- Team Simon Cowell (Groups): Fifth Harmony (previously 1432, previously LYLAS), Emblem3 and Lyric145

RECAP: The X Factor USA starts off tonight with a performance from the insanely popular boyband One Direction of “Live While We’re Young”.
Hope everyone enjoyed that little performance by One Direction. Now let’s move on to some results shall we? We have the first half of the contestants declared safe and moving on to the top 12. They are:
Arin Ray
Diamond White
Emblem3
Jennel Garcia
Paige Thomas
Vino Alan
Naturally we have to take a long break before we learn any more results. So we have more padding in the form of another guest performance from One Direction of “It’s Gotta Be You”.
More elimination results are now coming in! The next batch of safe contestants announced by The X Factor hosts are:
Carly Rose Sonenclar
Tate Stevens
Beatrice Miller
Lyric 145
Fifth Harmony
The singers left in danger and facing elimination tonight are CeCe Frey and Jason Brock. This is not a shocking result at all considering they both had terrible performances last night. The two will now have to do a sing-off for the judges to determine who moves on to the top 12.
CeCe Frey performs first with “You Haven’t Seen The Last of Me” by Cher.
Jason Brock goes next with “Total Eclipse of The Heart” by Bonnie Tyler.
I think the winner of this sing-off is probably going to be CeCe Frey, but I’m not happy about it. I would rather keep Jason Brock and his beautiful, glowing personality. Plus, I like his voice better.
The judges will now announce which one of the two contestants they like best.
Demi Lovato – CeCe Frey
L. A. Reid – Jason Brock
Britney Spears – Jason Brock
Simon Cowell – CeCe Frey
With a tie among the judges, the choice of who goes home will be left up to the voters. Whoever got the least amount of votes will be sent home. That person is…
Jason Brock has been eliminated.
The X Factor hosts are going to do something rather unusual and announce the voting order results for all the contestants for the first time ever on the show. This should let you know if your favorites are in danger and tell you who probably most needs your votes next time!
