The X Factor season 2 is already down to the top 10 finalists and this week another talented contestant will be going home. The X Factor 2012 judges Demi Lovato, Simon Cowell, L. A. Reid and Britney Spears have been watching their teams dwindle down week by week. Who will see another one of their singers fail to impress the voters and be headed out the door this week? Join us for our live The X Factor recap of the season 2 top 10 performances and watch the action with us!
WARNING: THE X FACTOR 2012 SPOILERS AHEAD!
This post contains spoilers from The X Factor 2012 season 2, episode 19. Please stop reading if you do not want to know what happened on The X Factor season 2 performances show this week!
Last week on The X Factor 2012 season 2, Jennel Garcia from Team Britney Spears and Lyric 145 from Team Simon Cowell were sent packing after failing to make the grade with the voters. Poor Jennel Garcia was not only rejected by the voters, but she wasn’t able to garner enough support from the judges to be saved either. After all was said and done, she just couldn’t quite out sing Paige Thomas to secure the last spot in The X Factor season 2 top 10.
Once again last week, The X Factor 2012 season 2 producers announced the voting rank for the remaining finalists at the end of the show. Here’s how the remaining The X Factor season 2 top 10 stack up in the votes going into the live performance show tonight:
1. Tate Stevens (Team L. A.)
2. Carly Rose Sonenclar (Team Britney)
3. Vino Alan (Team L. A.)
4. Emblem3 (Team Simon)
5. CeCe Frey (Team Demi)
6. Fifth Harmony (Team Simon)
7. Diamond White (Team Britney)
8. Beatrice Miller (Team Britney)
9. Arin Ray (Team Britney)
10. Paige Thomas (Team Demi)
Right now it is not looking so good for Team Demi Lovato as she only has two singers left and neither are ranked very high. Honestly, it will be a miracle if Paige Thomas is not eliminated this week. Team Britney is in the best shape with four singers left, even though three of them are ranked in the lower half of the votes. (Probably a lot of vote splitting going on between them from the younger viewers.)

RECAP: Host Mario Lopez announces that there will be another double elimination on The Voice 2012 season 2 tomorrow night. So the top 10 will shortly become the top 8. Now, on to the live performances!
Tate Stevens – “I’m Already There” by Lonestar
Judges: Britney says his performances always touch her and his coach is doing a great job with him. Demi agrees. She says Tate is always incredible but doesn’t think it was his best performance. Simon loves the song and the story behind it. He also notes that Tate was shaky on the song in places. L. A. says America loves Tate!
Diamond White – “Because You Love Me” by Celine Dion
Judges: Diamond gets a HUGE standing ovation all around. L. A. says Diamond has had many amazing moments on The X Factor stage, but none like the one she had tonight. She is the truth, he says. Demi says she is blown away and the song connected with her, reminding her of her family. She is about to bawl. Simon says Diamond was incredible and totally fearless. She sings better than people twice her age and he believed it. Britney says Diamond broke her heart with that song and it was amazing.
Emblem3 – “Secrets” by One Republic
Judges: L. A. thinks the performance just lacked in emotion. Britney thought it was different from their usual stuff and it was good. Demi says she thought there was more emotion in this performance than inthe past. Simon says it was a terrific song choice and they could make a record with this kind of music.
Arin Ray – “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias
Judges: L. A. says it was a good song choice, but it was just too much for him. It wasn’t a 5 million performance. Demi says she was bored and would not sign Arin to her label if she had one. Simon says Arin is being caged up by these songs. He agrees with L. A. that Arin needs a big moment and he isn’t getting one. Britney says it takes a pro to come out and perform like this. She’s not too happy about all the negative criticism about her boy.
CeCe Frey – “Wind Beneath My Wings” by Bette Midler
Judges: L. A. says with this kind of a song you really need the emotion behind it and she had it. He could feel every word of it and it was genuine and real. He thinks CeCe has come a long way and she is a champion. Britney says it is hard to be critical of someone who just poured their heart out on stage in such an amazing way. Simon says they have seen another side of CeCe in the competition tonight. Demi says it was awesome and she loved it. She really put her soul and heart into her performance tonight.
Fifth Harmony – “I’ll Stand By You” by The Pretenders
Judges: L. A. says it was great and it is tough to be critical with the holiday theme of Thanksgiving. Britney says it was beautiful and touching, bravo! Demi says she loves watching them because they are really genuine. (Word of the evening apparently.) She didn’t love the song choice, but she did love the performance. Simon says he was nuts over the performance and they’ve really come together as a group. He hopes America will vote for them.
Beatrice Miller – “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol
Judges: L. A. says Beatrice is an inspiration to girls everyone. She is great. Demi would like to see Beatrice do some music that is more appropriate to her age and fun. She thinks she is not progressing forward. Simon says he could tell the song really connected to her and she was getting choked up with it. She’s a sweet girl and he likes her. Britney thinks it was her best performance so far and she was terrific.
Vino Alan – “God Bless The USA” by Lee Greenwood
Judges: Britney says the performance was amazing and spot on. Demi says she has been hard on him in the past but he’s obviously doing great coming in third place two weeks in a row. America is really going to lvoe what he did this week. Simon says you can’t judge a book by its cover because underneath his hard shell, Vino is a softie. L. A. says he is very proud of Vino for standing up for the troops and he is standing for him.
Paige Thomas – “Everytime” by Britney Spears
Judges: Britney says it was a beautiful performance. L. A. says it was very good, but not good enough to take her out of last place with the voters. Simon says the song was muffled in places and her emotion got the best of her. She is going to have it rough tomorrow. Demi says it broke her heart to see her sing tonight because it was pitchy. She sang it better in rehearsals.
Carly Rose Sonenclar – “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”
Judges: L. A. says wow! He says she is force of nature and she pulled out the big guns tonight. She only needed one big moment and she had two. Demi still can’t believe she is just 13. She is going to have a career in the music industry for life. Simon says that is the best he has ever heard that song. (I think Judy Garland would disagree.) Simon thinks she will come in first place next week and she is blowing out the competition. Britney is also dumbstruck that she is only 13. (Get over people, she’s 13.)
