On the first episode of America’s Got Talent 2012 this week, the contestants arrive in Las Vegas for boot camp with America’s Got Talent judges Howard Stern, Howie Mandel, and Sharon Osbourne. Over the next three nights, the judges will make their decisions about who will make it through to the Top 48 and who will be sent home.

The America’s Got Talent 2012 live shows will begin on Monday, July 2nd at 9PM with a two-hour episode, followed by a one hour results show on Tuesday. Before the contestants can get to those live shows, however, they first have to get through the Vegas boot camp!

We can’t wait to see what kind of wild things will happen during Vegas boot camp on America’s Got Talent 2012 this week. So let’s just get on with it and move right along to our America’s Got Talent 2012 recap of Monday night’s episode and find out!

America’s Got Talent 2012 kicked off Monday night with an announcement that wasn’t great news for some of the contestants. All of the acts will be split into categories.

The first category will be the judge’s favorites, and those acts will get to perform first for a chance to make the Top 24. The second category is the ‘standbys’, who will perform second in hopes of getting picked for any remaining spots after the judge’s favorites perform. If an act is not selected for either category, they will be sent home without the opportunity to make a second impression on the judges.

Charly C, Ivy Rose and Bandz Brothers are sent home right at the beginning. They will not be going forward in the competition. The judges then give three spots away, including one to an animal act.

Now we have the ‘danger’ acts coming up for review by the judges. All Wheel Sports does pretty well and I like them, but they had a bit of an off moment.

Christin Sandu is okay, but not hugely thrilling, with his balancing act. Ben Blaque and his scary crossbow just terrify me because I’m convinced that guy is going to skewer someone.

The singers are up next and Mary Joyner, daughter of the famous Olympian, is up in front of the judges. I like her a lot, but her voice was off and she knew it. Roxy Doll, Brianna Price and Cecillia Detwiller all fail to be impressive in this round. Poor Luna, who works in a Deli, really bombs when she forgets her lyrics and basically falls apart on stage. The best singer of the night is definately Australian Nikki Jensen, who sings the hell out of some Rolling Stones.

Up next are the dancers and the judges get to see Funk Beyond Control, All That! and Loyalty Dance Team again. The 787 Crew also performs and they are cool, but one guy totally messes up a bit.

After the dancers, we have the ‘novelty’ performers, which includes that absolutely insane ‘Horse’ guy getting hit in the gonads repeatedly over and over again.

All Beef Patty sings for the judges again, and boy, I don’t need to see that again. Joe Castillo does some more cool stuff that I love, but is still never going to be enough for a whole Vegas act. Todd Oliver Irving and his dog drum up some more laughts, the Light Wire Theater does some nice dinosaurs and garden work. The real kicker though is the Aurora Light Painters, who do up a fabulous light show even better than their last one.

The classical singers round out the night and it is not a good lineup this evening. Simply Sergio forgets his words and fails. Luiz Meneghin doesn’t forget his lyrics but he isn’t all that amazing. Sadly, previously fabulous goth opera singer Andrew De Leon also fails to impress with a very off performance.

That’s a wrap for tonight. We’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out who will be going home and who will be moving on next!

  1. I would say it was a great night for Americas Got Talent. I
was surprised to see some of the past people to auditions still the show and
just bomb this appearance. I wonder if the pressure is just so steep that
they’ve cracked under it. I can’t wait to find out what happens and see who is
    out and who remains.
