Nelson Mandela Dead: The Whole World Mourns Icon of Peace

Nelson Mandela dead at 95! Unfortunately this is not another Nelson Mandela death hoax. The sad news has just been officially announced that South African anti-apartheid activist and leader Nelson Mandela died on Thursday at 8:50 PM local time in his home country. South African President Jacob Zuma said in a press statement that Nelson Mandela is “now at peace” but the people of his country and the world are now in deep mourning over his loss.

Nobel Peace Prize laureate Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in prison after being convicted of treason by a white minority government for his anti-apartheid activism. He was later released from prison and negotiated a peaceful transition from white-minority rule in the 1990s.

Prince William and Kate Middleton Welcome New Royal Baby Boy!

Duke_and_Duchess_of_Cambridge Pregnant Kate Middleton has finally given birth and a new baby boy has been added to the royal family! Prince William and Kate Middleton rushed to St. Mary’s hospital in London on Monday morning after the Duchess of Cambridge went into labor.

After what was described by a royal spokesperson as a ‘normal progression of labor,’ Kate Middleton gave birth to a new British prince at 4:24 p.m. local London time.

The royal palace issues a press statement this afternoon releasing the barest details of the royal baby’s birth. “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 4:24 p.m.,” the statement said. “The baby weighs 8lbs 6oz.”

Pregnant Kate Middleton Gives Birth! Meet the New Royal Baby!

Pregnant Kate Middleton was rushed off to St. Mary’s Hospital on Monday morning to give birth to the newest heir to the British throne. Due to a new change in the royal rules of succession, it didn’t matter whether the Kate Middleton baby was a boy or a girl — either one would qualify to be the third in line to the British throne.

The Duchess of Cambridge reportedly went into labor in the early hours of the morning on July 22, 2013. Accompanied by her husband, Prince William, pregnant Kate Middleton was quickly bustled off to St. Mary’s in London to prepare for the coming of the couple’s first royal baby.

There had been some concerns that Prince William might be late to the birth because of his duties as a Royal Air Force helicopter rescue pilot. Luckily, however, everything worked out perfectly for Prince William and wife Kate Middleton — who were finally married in 2011 — and he was by her side as she entered the hospital.

Pope Benedict XVI To Resign Due To Age And Lack Of Energy, Video

Pope Benedict XVI to resign due to age and lack of energy, video below. Recognizing what he described as his failing strength of “mind and body,” Pope Benedict XVI announced Monday that he would step down as head of the Catholic church, the first pontiff to give up his duties since 1415.

“After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry,” Benedict said in a statement. Federico Lombardi, director of the Vatican press office, said Benedict will move to the papal residence in Castel Gandolfo following his abdication on Feb. 28, then return to Rome to live in a monastery of cloistered nuns inside the Vatican for a period of prayer and reflection. Beyonce Lip-Sync At Inauguration Confirmed

Beyonce was on hand at the presidential inauguration on Monday to perform the National Anthem but instead decided to go with a pre-recorded performance. While Beyonce has not admitted directly that she mouthed the words to the song the confirmation instead came from Kristin DuBois, Public Affairs Chief For The Marine Band.

“All music is pre-recorded for the ceremony because there are so many eventualities and conditions that day. We performed, live, the band. But we received last-minute word that Beyonce was going to use the pre-recorded vocal track. Those were the instructions we were given. We don’t know what the reason why,” DuBois told PageSix.

While pre-recorded performances are commonplace at the inauguration another big name singer managed to perform live. Kelly Clarkson had no trouble stepping up to the challenge, DuBois explained to HollywoodLife. “It’s not because she couldn’t sing, something had to have happened that prevented her from doing that. Kelly Clarkson did sing live and the band accompanied her.”

Kate Middleton Pregnant Hospital Stay Extended for ‘Several Days’ More

The Prince William and Kate Middleton pregnant news announcement came sooner than planned for the royal couple, according to palace sources. Kate Middleton has been in the hospital since the announcement of her pregnancy due to severe morning sickness called hyperemesis gravidarum requiring rest and hydration. This acute morning sickness and required hospital stay was the reason why the Kate Middleton pregnant story went public when it did.

The wife of Prince William was admitted to the hospital just after the Kate Middleton pregnant announcement. This sparked speculation the news of the royal pregnancy was released earlier than scheduled as it would have been difficult to otherwise explain away the extended Kate Middleton hospital stay. Sources inside the palace confirmed to several media outlets that this was the case.

Ashley Judd Senate Run Not Out of the Question

Actress Ashley Judd might just consider a run for the U.S. Senate in Kentucky. The Kiss the Girls star said in a press statement on Friday that she is honored to have supporters encouraging her to run for a Senate seat in her former home state. While she is not confirming any plans yet to run for office, she has said it is something she might consider in the future.

At an event in September sponsored by Marie Claire magazine and EMILY’s List, Ashley Judd said she receives “a lot of encouragement to run” for office. The idea is something she is open to, saying at the event that she wants to serve and it could “be time to look at possibly running for office.”
