Actor Charlie Sheen‘s stolen SUV was found wrecked at the bottom of a cliff near his home on Friday. Sheen called police around 4 a.m. to report the vehicle stolen. Authorities do not believe anyone was in the car when it crashed into a ravine in Sherman Oaks, CA.
An SUV belonging to actor Charlie Sheen was found Friday morning hundreds of feet down a cliff. The car was wrecked and rolled onto its roof. Police say they received an automated alert from the SUV’s onboard alarm system, as well as a call from Charlie Sheen around the same time reporting the vehicle missing.
Police did not find evidence anyone had been inside the SUV when it crashed down the cliff. “They’ve looked all around the hillside. There’s nobody in the car, nobody around [and no] evidence of anybody being around at the moment of impact,” Officer Bruce Borihanh said in a press statement. “It’s being treated as an auto theft investigation.”
Authorities do not currently suspect Charlie Sheen was involved in the wreck, saying the actor would have been seriously injured had he been inside the SUV. “I don’t know how he would have gotten back up the cliff,” Borihanh said. Â
The mysterious wreck is just the latest in a series of bizarre incidents surrounding Charlie Sheen and his wife Brooke Mueller. Sheen was arrested on Christmas Day after Mueller called 911 and reported her husband was threatening her with a knife. Mueller was later admitted to a hospital ICU after falling seriously ill then checked into a rehab ‘wellness’ program – although her lawyer states Mueller is not suffering from any kind of addiction.
On top of all of this, Sheen and Mueller reportedly still want to reconcile, as soon as they can get a judge to lift the protective order against Sheen keeping him away from his wife.
After claiming husband Charlie Sheen threatened her with a knife, Brooke Mueller apparently still wants to save her marriage. Mueller has reportedly asked the court to alter the restraining order taken out against Sheen so she can contact him to hash things out.
Sheen was taken into police custody on Christmas morning and charged with second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief. Mueller said in a 911 call to police that Sheen had threatened her with a knife and she was scared for her life. Sheen is scheduled to appear in court on the charges in February.
Brooke Mueller’s lawyer told TMZ.com his client wants to talk to Charlie Sheen “so they can work on resolving the conflicts in their marriage.” As for the whole domestic dispute incident leading to Sheen’s arrest, Mueller’s attorney says it was all just the result of “one bad night.”
Calling 911 and reporting your husband has a knife and you’re afraid he’s going to kill you is certainly a pretty bad night in our book. We think maybe these two might need a bit more time to cool off before they get too close to each other – and sharp kitchen instruments – again.
In the Charlie Sheen 911 call released by police on Monday, a panicked and crying Brooke Mueller tells an emergency dispatcher her husband has a “knife” and she is “scared” for her life.
In the 911 call, Brooke Mueller said she was reporting a “domestic abuse” incident and tells the operator her husband, Charlie Sheen, had a knife and had been threatening her. At the time of the call, Mueller said Sheen was in another room “packing to leave” and family members were keeping the two separated. An obviously distraught Mueller said at one point she “thought I was going to die.”
Charlie Sheen was arrested on domestic abuse charges, including second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief. He was later released after posting $8,500 bail. Sheen is scheduled to appear in court on the charges on Feb. 8. Mueller has reportedly taken out a restraining order against Sheen, but has made no public comment so far about the incident.
