Joanna Krupa Defends Religious Nude PETA Ad

Former Playboy model and Dancing With the Stars competitor Joanna Krupa is defending her decision to do a religious-themed nude PETA ad. In the PETA advertisement, Johanna Krupa poses wearing angel wings and a halo while holding a large crucifix over her body.

The nude PETA advertisement has spurred outrage from several religious organizations, including the Catholic League. Krupa, who is herself a Catholic, says the advertisement coincides with her religious beliefs.

“As a practicing Catholic, I am shocked that the Catholic League is speaking out against my PETA ads, which I am very proud of. I’m doing what the Catholic Church should be doing, working to stop senseless suffering of animals, the most defenseless of god’s creation,” Krupa said in a press statement. “It’s understandable that the Catholic League is wary of another sex scandal, but the sex we’re talking about pertains to dogs and cats.”

While we admire Krupa for wanting to make a statement to defend the rights of animals, we aren’t really sure that last bit of her statement came across quite right…

Dancing With the Stars Season 9 Cast Announced

The celebrity contestants for Dancing with the Stars Season 9 were announced Monday on Good Morning America. The eclectic mix includes such oddities as reality stars Mark Dacascos and Kelly Osbourne, politician Tom Delay, UFC fighter Chuck Liddell and model Joanna Krupa.

The Dancing With the Stars 2009 cast is perhaps the strangest mix of contestants yet. The announcement of the DWTS season 9 cast was made on Good Morning America on Monday by host Tom Bergeron. Bergeron also discussed a few changes to the DWTS format for season 9.

“In the middle of our season, over three weeks, we’re going to have double eliminations,” Bergeron said. “We’ll lose about half of our cast within that period. It will be a ballroom bloodbath.”
