John Mayer Admits To Being “Just A Jerk” In Past Relationships

John Mayer admits to being “just a jerk” in past relationships. In an upcoming interview with CBS This Morning, this singer admits, “I was just a jerk” in past relationships. Mayer, who infamously referred to Jessica Simpson as “sexual napalm” in a 2010 sit-down, tells host Anthony Mason that he’s now a changed man.

“It’s very liberating when you finally realize it’s impossible to make everyone like you,” says the “Your Body Is A Wonderland” crooner. He adds, “I wanted everybody to like me. I thought I was one shuck and jive away in every direction.” Mayer goes on to tell the morning show that dealing with the bad press from his overly-candid interviews was even worse than recovering from throat surgery and not being able to sing. Britney Rings in a New Decade

Britney turns 30?! How did that happen? We swear she was just 21, in all her poppy princess glory. Yes, we’ve chosen to block out the intervening hot mess, head-shaving, baby-rearing, meltdown-having years. And fortunately she appears to have somewhat emerged on the other side. (Let that be a lesson to you Lindsay Lohan!)

Britney celebrated in a relatively simple way – by ice skating with her boyfriend in Houston. Of course, nothing is ever totally simple for a celeb right of passage. Meanwhile, her famous friends were sending her well-wishes and homemade videos. Kim Kardashian sent her wish via a video on Celebuzz: “Happy birthday to the beautiful Miss Britney Spears! Welcome to the 30’s club, Brit!!”

Lady Gaga, Justin Beieber, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Heidi Klum, Miley Cyrus, Ryan Seacrest and many other sent their fond regards, which Britney no doubt enjoyed reading while hanging out  with her sons Preston, 6, and Jayden, 5.

Britney goes back to South America Saturday for her tour, playing a free show in Mexico City this weekend.

Adele, Nicki Minaj, Kanye Top 2012 Grammy Nominations

She may have gone on hiatus due to some health troubles and throat surgery but Adele didn’t take a hit in her popularity this year. The British singer was nominated for six Grammy Awards last night including for album of the year, record of the year, and song of the year. But it’s Kanye West leading the pack with the highest number of nominations: seven, and many for his collaboration with Jay-Z.

Close behind were the Foo Fighters and Bruno Mars, each with six nominations. Bon Iver, Nicki Minaj, Mumford & Sons and Rihanna each earned four nominations.

Here’s a list of some of the top noms – some new-comers and a few stand-by favorites

For record of the year, nominees were Adele (“Rolling in the Deep”), Bruno Mars (“Grenade”), Bon Iver (“Holocene”), Mumford and Sons (“The Cave”) and Katy Perry (“Firework”).

Album nods go to Adele (21), the Foo Fighters (Wasting Light), Lady Gaga (Born this Way), Bruno Mars (Doo-Wops & Hooligans), and Rihanna (Loud).

Vying for Song of the Year: Kanye West and Rihanna (“All of the Lights”), Mumford and Sons (“The Cave”), Bruno Mars (“Grenade”), Bon Iver (“Holocene”) and Adele (“Rolling in the Deep”).

Yes, for some reason Rihanna keeps sneaking her way in there; hopefully this is the year that someone with real talent trumps her pop appeal.

Katy Loves Pizza, Not Babies

It’s not every day you hear a star copping to just really loving a good pizza or burger. But that’s what Katy Perry did when she blamed fast food delights for giving her what some theorized was a “baby bump.” Then in typical Katy fashion she added “I still love drinking alcohol, so [no kids] yet.”

However, that’s not to say that kids aren’t in the future for Katy and husband Russell Brand. On the Ellen show she stated that having children is “one of the reasons you get married … You think, that person is going to be a good partner, a good parent,” she explained.

Katy fans, don’t get your hopes up that she’ll have a mini-me walking around any time soon. She said she still wasn’t sure if it was the “right time.” She’s still plenty young so we say – take all the time you need, Katy!

Include Katy Perry in Your Halloween Plans!

All you Katy Perry fans – especially if you’re in LA – get ready to be thankful. Katy announced on the Ellen Show that she would be playing at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on November 23rd – the day before Thanksgiving – to wrap up her “California Dreams World Tour.” This special concert will be dubbed “Katy Perry Gives Thanks” and she’s adding the bonus performance because what was supposed to be her last show, on the 22nd, sold out.

Of course there are some hoops to jump through if you want to snag your free tickets. You can head over her her Facebook page for the details – the instructions say:

“Register here Friday, November 11, through 11:59pm(PST) Monday, November 14, for the chance to receive a unique code to obtain passes to the show. A limited amount of invitations are available. Up to 4 passes will be available per code.”

Good luck!

Russell Brand deported from Japan

This is what happens when you marry a guy with a history of drug and alcohol abuse – sometimes surprise skeletons pop out of the closet to ruin your plans. Katy Perry, who is currently in Asia with her world tour, was looking forward to showing her husband, Russell Brand, all around Tokyo.

Tokyo is Katy’s favorite city, but sadly when she took to the internet to tell Twitter all about it, the news was sad.  “So…my husband just got deported from Japan. I am so. sad. I brought him all this way to show him my favorite place,” Katy tweeted, later saying that Russell had been deported because of some prior legal problems from more than a decade ago.

Russell Brand comments on his marriage

It’s difficult to tell how well Katy Perry‘s marriage to Russell Brand is going – the two have only been married a few months, and are struggling to spend time together due to busy work schedules on both sides of the equation.  Russell has had to make a lot of concessions in order to make the relationship work, like taking jokes out of his comedy routine that Katy found offensive, and scheduling dinner dates months in advance so that she could plan accordingly.

Recently, when asked about the marriage, Brand said that it is both spectacular and mundane.  He also noted that in many areas of the marriage, he has had to give up on the idea of having opinions, and lets Katy make the decisions according to what she wants.  Wow.
