The overwhelming celebrity Halloween costume theme this year seems to be dressing up like other celebrities. In particular, it seems like everyone wanted to work their own version of Miley Cyrus’ now infamous MTV Video Music Awards ‘twerking’ outfit. If there is anything we really wanted to see less than Kelly Ripa dressed as Miley Cyrus, though, it was Miley Cyrus dressed as Lil Kim.

The worst dressed vote for celebrity Halloween costumers this year, however, goes to Matt Lauer made up as Pamela Anderson from Baywatch. We will never be able to unsee that image. Seriously, we are feeling the need for some eyeball bleach after seeing Matt Lauer with boobs.
The Book of Mormon, the fabulously funny Broadway debut of South Park‘s Trey Parker and Matt Stone, found glory at the Tony Awards Sunday night with a stunning sweep of nine awards. The Book of Mormon, which scored Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Original Score and Best Book of a Musical, was nominated for 14 awards overall.

Nikki M. James, star of the Latter Day Saints spoof The Book of Mormon, took home the Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical. The Book of Mormon also scored wins for sound, lighting, set design, direction and orchestration. and actress in a featured role.
War Horse, the play based on Michael Morpurgo‘s novel, took home Best Play. The World War I drama, which also won for direction, lighting, set design, and sound for a play, is set to be adapted to film by Steven Spielberg.
Other winners included Frances McDormand for Best Lead Actress in a play for Good People, John Larroquette for Best Performance by an Actor in a featured role in a musical for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Ellen Barkin and John Benjamin for best performances in a featured role in a play for The Normal Heart. Neil Patrick Harris hosted the 2011 Tony Awards, which included a lot of torturous jokes and a rather amusing performance from the drama-filled production of Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark.
Although, well, we don’t think it was actually supposed to be amusing…
