Kristen Stewart Apologizes for ‘Raped’ by Fame Comment

Twilight star Kristen Stewart has issued a public apology for comparing being photographed by paparazzi to being “raped” in an interview with British Elle. Since her starring role in the Twilight film franchise thrust Kristen Stewart into international stardom, the actress has frequently whined about the price of being famous. Mostly we just ignore her, but her latest comment in an interview with British Elle really pissed some people off – including us.

Stewart compared viewing paparazzi photographs of celebrities to “looking at someone being raped” in the interview. “A lot of the time I can’t handle it,” Stewart said. “It’s f–ked. I never expected this to be my life.”

Now Stewart has come out to issue a public apology for her crass comment. “I really made an enormous mistake – clearly and obviously. And I’m really sorry about my choice of words,” Stewart said in a press statement. “‘Violated’ definitely would have been a better way of expressing the thought. People thinking that I’m insensitive about this subject rips my guts out. I made a big mistake.”

Yeah, we have to agree with you on that one Kristen. And remember, if fame sucks SO badly, you can always do us a huge favor by taking your Twilight millions and retiring into obscurity on some deserted island anytime you like.

Robert Pattinson Joins Hope for Haiti Concert

Twilight star Robert Pattinson has signed on as a presenter for the Hope for Haiti concert to raise funds for the survivors of the 7.0 Haiti earthquake last week. Pattinson will join stars such as Taylor Swift, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Sandra Bullock and Shakira in lending a helping hand with the benefit concert.

The Hope for Haiti telethon, organized by Hollywood star George Clooney, will air live on nearly all major television networks on Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. central time. Networks airing the concert include ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, CNN, HBO and MTV.

Haitian-born singer Wyclef Jean will co-host the show from New York, with George Clooney presenting from Los Angeles. CNN’s Anderson Cooper will broadcast live from Haiti during the event. Twilight star Robert Pattinson has signed on to present from London.

Even Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt will be tossing the gauntlet aside to help Haiti. Both have signed on as presenters for the Hope for Haiti concert, though we’re sure they probably won’t get within a mile of each other if at all possible.

Concert organizers are reportedly still trying to snag the rest of the Twilight trio – Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner – to boost young viewership. Oprah Winfrey and Angelina Jolie are also reportedly on the wish list to participate in the show, according to E! Online.

Can Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner Split Up If They Weren’t Dating?

Rumors have been flying around for a while over the alleged romance between Twilight: New Moon hottie Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift, the current golden girl of the music industry. Despite the fact that neither has actually admitted they were dating, the couple has apparently already split up. At least, that’s the story according to the tabloids.

We always thought the Taylor Squared couple was a grand idea; they certainly do look cute together. Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner did seem to be spending quite a bit of time together. The alleged couple was spotted out and about on what appeared to be dates several times and both playfully referenced each other when they hosted (separately) on Saturday Night Live. But, and it’s a big but, neither Taylor has ever actually fessed up to a romantic relationship between the two.

Regardless, the tabloids and gossip sites have insisted on calling the two Taylors a couple for the past three months or so. Whether or not Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift were actually a couple, the alleged romance now apparently appears to be over. A source reportedly told UsMagazine.com the relationship “wasn’t really developing into anything, and wasn’t going to, so they decided they were better as friends.”

The unidentified (as usual) source said the two Taylors just had “no chemistry.” Well, if that is true, we hope they were able to fake it enough to pass off as a hot and bothered couple in their upcoming flick Valentine’s Day. From the brief clip of them snogging in a trailer from the film, we personally think their “chemistry” looked just fine.

Is Twilight’s Taylor Lautner the Next Big Action Star?

Twilight: New Moon star Taylor Lautner will reportedly be kicking ass and taking names in the upcoming action movie Cancun. The Twilight saga hottie will rely heavily on his background in martial arts training for the new action flick, which will be produced by Twilight film studio Summit Entertainment.

Cancun will tell the story of a young man who loses his dream of becoming an elite soldier due to an injury. Instead, Taylor Lautner’s character will head off to college. During a spring break trip in Cancun, his friends are kidnapped by evil drug runners and he’ll have to use his mad martial arts skills to rescue them.

“We wanted to continue working with Taylor and feel he’s got the chops to become a big action star,” production partner Wyck Godfrey said. The movie is expected to start filming by mid 2010.

Sounds a bit cheesy really, but we’re sure the film will probably include a lot of muscular action and probably some shirtless Taylor Lautner all over the place. So, really, little to no actual plot is probably not the important.

Lautner is also starring in the upcoming flick Valentine’s Day, set for release in February. The Twilight star is also reportedly closing in on a deal to play a superhero based on the Max Steel comic book.

‘The Blind Side’ Tackles ‘New Moon’ at Box Office

The Sandra Bullock starring feel-good film The Blind Side finally managed to overtake New Moon at the box office in its third week in theaters. The Twilight Saga: New Moon dropped to second place from last weekend, with $15.7 million in ticket sales.

The Blind Side

The Blind Side surged to the number one spot in the box office, raking in $20.4 million in sales. The film opened at the number 2 spot against New Moon, but has now overtaken the blockbuster vampire sequel. Not a big deal for Summit Entertainment, however, considering New Moon has already stacked up a total gross of over $245 million.

Brothers, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Tobey Maguire, crept into third place at the box office, bringing in only $9.7 million. Heist thriller Armored stumbled into fourth place, while the John Travolta and Robin Williams comedy Old Dog rounded out the top five.

‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn’ May Spawn Two Films

According to the latest buzz, the final book in the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn, may be broken up into two films. The rumor the last book would be split into two movies has been going around for a while, but it looks like Summit Entertainment may seriously be considering the idea.

Breaking Dawn SF

A report by industry mag Variety says Summit Entertainment is contemplating splitting the final Twilight book into dual films and is ready to put the plan into action. However, director Chris Weitz,  screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg and author Stephenie Meyer have only been contracted for four films in total.

While Rosenberg and Meyer probably won’t mind receiving another hefty payday, Weitz isn’t all aboard the idea of yet another Twilight film. Weitz told Entertainment Weekly last week he might be interested in doing another Twilight film, but said “I just think I would die” if faced with another New Moon-like PR blitz tour.

To add on another film out of Breaking Dawn, Summit would also have to work out new contracts with the Twilight stars, including Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart. Considering the huge haul New Moon has made in ticket sales so far, that could be quite a pricey negotiation.

Breaking Dawn is such a hefty, complex book, it might not be a bad idea to spit it into two films. The question is whether the Twilight frenzy among fans can be maintained long enough to play out through five movies.

‘The Blind Side’ Creeps Up on ‘New Moon’ in Weekend Box Office

Twilight: New Moon scored number one at the box office again this weekend, but faced stiff competition from the Sandra Bullock starring feel-good film The Blind Side. New Moon continued its box office domination over the weekend, coming in first with $42.5 million in ticket sales. The real story, however, was the meteoric rise of Warner Bros. The Blind Side.

New Moon SF

The story of a Southern woman who adopts a homeless youth and supports him pursuing his athletic dreams was a major hit at the box office, raking in $40.1 million. Just a few million more and The Blind Side would have pulled off a major coup at the box office.

The end of the world disaster film 2012 rounded out the top three films, with Old Dogs and A Christmas Carol finishing off the top three. The much hyped action flick Ninja Assassin failed to even break the top five, recouping only $13.1 million of the film’s $40 million budget so far.

The question is, can New Moon hold on for yet another week in the number one spot? Should be interesting to see how next week’s list pans out.
